Choosing boxing gloves

Glove weight is the padding, not the size of your hand. Lighter gloves (10–12oz) suit bag and pad work; sparring gloves (14–18oz) spread impact to protect your partner. Your bodyweight sets the starting point, and our boxing glove size guide covers the rest.
